Every upgrade, ESU or tools release raises the same question: what will it break? Years of customisations, retrofits and integrations sit on top of the standard objects, and the impact analysis is done by hand, spreadsheet by spreadsheet, and is out of date the day it is finished.
JDE UpgradeIQ™ builds that picture from the system itself. It inventories what has been customised, maps each object to what the release changes, and produces an impact report that tells you what to retrofit, what to retire and what to test, before anyone touches the code.
What JDE UpgradeIQ™ does
Inventories custom and modified objects, versions, processing options and integrations
Maps each customisation to the objects touched by an ESU, ASU, tools release or application upgrade
Ranks impact by how much business process depends on the affected object
Identifies customisations that standard functionality has since made redundant
Produces the retrofit list and the regression test scope for the release
How JDE UpgradeIQ™ works
The same governed loop as every Agent on JDE AgentOS™ (monitor, analyse, recommend, execute), applied to this Agent's job. Nothing reaches JD Edwards without a person approving it.
Monitor
Tracks the object library, custom code and the releases Oracle publishes.
Analyse
Cross-references every customisation against the changes in the target release.
Recommend
Produces the impact report: retrofit, retire, re-test, with the reasoning for each.
Execute
Hands the approved scope to the upgrade team and to JDE TestPilot™ for testing.
What Data It Touches
- Reads: object librarian and specification data, custom code, ESU/ASU and release notes, integration definitions
- Writes: impact reports, retrofit lists and test scopes
- Never touches: production objects or transactional data
Security: Where the Data Stays and Who Can Access It
A governance layer routes every action through human approval workflows, and the action layer only executes JD Edwards transactions that have been approved. The connector layer is AIS, Orchestrator, REST APIs and the database.
Where it sits in the JDE Agent Fabric
